Current Information:Age-23 56F, Ufford Street, Blackfriars Gunners Farm Military Cemetery, Belgium 11th Royal West Surrey (Queens) were formed in Lambeth in June 1915 and arrived in France a year later as part of 123 Brigade, 41st Division. On 5th June, 1916 they moved into the front line trenches at Le Bizet, just north of Armentières. The Battalion Diary recorded the 8th June as being “nothing worthy of report” with only two men lightly wounded, possible from sniper fire. It makes no mention of the death of Cecil Robertson who was killed in action on that day and who is buried in the nearby Gunners Military Cemetery. |
